New house!!

We closed on the new house today! yay! I have to give everyone involved credit, this was not an easy transaction, and they all worked hard to get it done by today... I think both the realtor and the mortgage guy had a few less hairs and a few more grey ones, but they got it done. The closing was even at the time we picked, how rare! Also, when we got to the closing there was an error on the rate and it was lower than we had expected! How often does that happen!?

After the closing, we dropped Luke with Nana and Papa and headed to the new house. Rick worked on the HUGE snow pile in front of the garage and I cleaned the kitchen to get ready to unpack after tomorrow. We made a trip to home depot to get the paint, new kitchen faucet, lights, doorknobs, new bathroom faucets and shower heads, and a TON of wire.

We have a LONG day ahead of us tomorrow, loading and unloading the UHaul... and then unloading the POD, which is in our new driveway.

Update

We are plugging along with getting ready to move! We are really excited to get into the new house. When we listed our house for sale, we got a free POD, or basically a generic version of that, for free! So that was delivered the other day. We have loaded a lot of stuff into it, but still have a lot left to go.

We are getting a UHaul on Saturday to move the rest of our stuff. the POD gets picked up Friday, which is also our tentative closing date.

In the process of packing, we have come across all kinds of stuff. I found our Stetson cowboy hats that we got on our trip to Aspen from Verizon! They were way in the back of Lukes closet and Luke liked the hat, so i let him wear it.

Then Loki wanted to check out the hat and Luke was very excited to have her come over to him. He loves the kitties so much!

I only have to work 2 days this week and the rest will be devoted to packing up! Dee and I picked out the paint for the new house today (bedrooms and living room). I will pick that up this week so we can paint on friday and Saturday before the new carpets get installed.

Recent happenings

There has been A LOT going on here lately. Our offer was accepted on the new house, and we close on the 27th or hopefully before. The renters move into our house on the 1st. We have been busy packing up everything!

We have gone to home depot and picked out what we think we want for the new appliances in the new house, which was exciting, but will be expensive!! Luke has had a few colds in the past couple weeks. He got sick about 2 weeks ago with a pretty good cold that lasted about 1 week. He started to feel better last week, about half way through the week and then started with a bad cough yesterday. We went to the doctor today and it looks like he has croup. Today, he threw up on Dada:

That picture still doesnt really show just how much it was :) I was glad it wasnt me though!

Luke had his first taste of formula on Saturday, he likes it. It seems as though he really does not care what he eats or drinks :) He likes it all!

I can't really think of what else is going on, although I am sure there is more :)

Here is Luke sleeping on my lap as we wait to go to the doc. I got to watch the bachelor from monday night (yay for kicking off Naomi!!) while he slept. Its hard to see in this picture but his paci is hanging out of his mouth haha. So cute

This picture does not even come close to doing justice for the amount of throw up that luke got on his dada. It was even in Rick's chest hair and all the way down to his knees. Both boys got bath/shower after that one. We go to the doc at 450 for luke's cough :( poor little walrus

luke eating a few Cheerios this morning. He slept from 6:15pm to 8:45am today. I think he still feels sick haha ... We did not, however set an alarm clock this morning because Luke always gets up at 7:30am... so I woke up at 8:45 and woke Rick up because he had an appointment at 9:00... woops.
