Lots of firsts!!

Well today was Luke's 1st day of "school" - they don't like to call it daycare I guess. I have to work early on Tuesday's so Rick got him ready in the morning. Here he is prepping for his first day!

He made sure to bring a paci or 2 along for the day.

He was pretty excited and happy before his big day!

Here he is when he first got there and was checking out his surroundings. This is one of his teachers. He will be in the infant room until he can walk well enough to move up to the 1 year old room. Most of the kids are almost 2 in there right now until they move up to the 2 year old room. So, Luke should be moving up with his classmates now from the infant room.

Memorial day weekend:

We had a GREAT weekend at the lake! We got up there on Saturday afternoon and we got the yard furniture outside and got our clothes and food unpacked. We didnt do a lot on Saturday night, just ate and hung out by the fire etc. On Sunday, we got up bright and early for church, well actually Luke woke us up at 630 so we figured we could make the 730 mass. We got to the church and it was the wrong church for the 730 AM mass. Woops. So we went out to eat and then went to the 9am at that church. When we got home it was kind of crappy out so we baby proofed the kitchen cabinets. Just as we were finishing up, the sun came out and it was SOOO nice out! We got luke changed into his bathing suit and we went swimming in the lake! The lake was really warm for May and I even went in about half way! Luke LOVED the water and did not want to get out. Yay for 1st time swimming in the lake for the year!! Rick and I both got some time on the jet skiis so that was fun and the neighbor watched Luke for a bit so we could go out together and explore the big side of the lake for a little bit. We went on a boat ride with our neighbors on Sunday night, it was really nice out and Luke made it to the channel over to the large side of the lake before he fell asleep (like 5 minutes).

On Monday morning, the lake was really calm and no one was out yet at like 930, so we decided to go out for a little cruise. So, Luke got his first jet ski ride!! He loved it but he kept trying to hit to start/stop button haha. We went just around the island right near our house and back but it was a good little 1st ride. Later that day we went out to the floating dock and played out there for a bit. Luke is not very mobile with his life vest on, but he doesn't mind it too much.

Rick wants me to post some pictures of the lawn since he has been working so hard to get it to look so great! I can't find, right now, any pictures of the before pictures of the yard. But it looks great now!!

Hot day

It was really hot today so Rick and Luke decided to try swimming in Papa's pool. It was a little too chilly for Luke so they only go in as far as the legs. Rick said Luke was trying to like the water, but it needs a few more degrees to be enjoyable. :)

I have still been sick but feeling better than I did over the weekend. I hope I feel better by the weekend!

Baby Kitties!

Today we went to see Aunty Dee's brand new baby kitties!!
Luke had SO much fun playing with them!! They are much friendlier than our kitties and were great with Luke. The baby kitties were pretty acrobatic!!

And very friendly

I am not sure if Luke liked swinging the feather-stick around more or having the kitties interact with him.
When we left Aunty Dee's we swung by Aunty Sandy's for a visit... Great - Grammy is down for hte weekend! I didn't take any pics but Luke played for a long time with some large Legos that Aunty Sandy had. He also swung the front door open and closed for a bit, that was really fun. They also have a kitty (Gus) who is really friendly. He is pretty old, but really gentle and patient. He was giving Luke kisses and licking his head when we first got there - so cute. We had a great visit with Great-Grammy and Aunty Sandy and then headed for home. Kim, Dan and Sebastien came over for a little cookout and the boys had fun playing together. Sebastien has a helmet for the next month or 2 and Luke thought it was fun to put a ball in the hole on the top of his head. Sebastien didn't seem to mind too much :)
A couple weeks ago at Nana and Papa's house I took the biggest duck that Papa carved down for Luke to ride on. This has been a tradition with all the grandkids (not sure if the ducks were around when Dee was little - but definitly the rest of us). There are pictures of all of us sitting on these ducks.
Luke liked the duck and gave him kisses too.

We opened up the camp last weekend and realized that Luke was much easier to handle up there last year :) I packed up some stuff to baby proof the next time we go up. We got the yard raked and all the yard furniture outside. We hope to get the dock in soon too.

We spent my first Mother's Day up there and it was a nice day. Rick and Luke made me breakfast in bed and then i got to take a couple naps. Rick also made us a nice dinner on the grill and we relaxed for a bit. We headed home and swung in to see Nana and Papa and wish Nana a Happy Mother's Day.

We find out the sex of baby #2 in 2 weeks!! Then we can start getting his/her room ready.

Last Saturday we went to the baby shower for Sarah. Luke got to play with lots of familyAnd with Max - the doggy! Luke loved him and Max liked to give Luke kisses

Action shot with Max's tongue getting Luke hehe.
They had so much fun together
Then Luke got to cuddle a bit with his Great Grammy and his cousin Taylor.

I have more pics in the camera, which appears to be missing at the moment. Luke is staying over at Grandma and Grandpa's house tonight, so Rick and I went out and got some dinner and then ice cream. I have a course all day in Boston tomorrow (fun stuff) and RIck works, so Luke will get to play all day with grandma and grandpa! We might head up to the lake in the evening tomorrow to open it up and get a few things done up there.

Recent events

Lets see... We have been pretty busy....

Our friend Dan used his parents lawn tractor to help us clean up the yard. It took a little longer than expected on the Sunday, so he had to finish up on Monday. I watched Sebastien and Luke while he finished up. They had a lot of fun playing together!!

The following weekend (I think!)...

We went to a baby shower for my cousin Craig and his wife Katrin. They had the baby 6 weeks early - a girl, Averie. She had to spend 2 weeks in the hospital but is home now and doing great!! So we went to the shower last saturday and Luke got lots of cuddles and loves. Here he is hanging out with Aunty Jane. He was the only baby boy there - lots of baby girls though!!
Here he is before the baby shower... He drooled too much for that shirt so we had an outfit change before we left for the shower.

The following day was when we had Courtney's bridal shower, I already covered that.

The next week went by pretty fast with nothing too eventful...other than his first tooth coming in! I can't get a picture of it as he is pretty shy about showing it off, but its there and it came in on Tuesday or Wednesday.

Yesterday - we had another baby shower for my cousin Scott and his wife Sarah who are expecting a baby girl in June. Luke had fun and played with his cousin Taylor (1 month younger than him) and got to see Great Grammy!! I took a few pics of Taylor and Luke together with Great Grammy... its hard to get 2 babies to look and smile at the same time!

There are a few pics that I will put of of Luke playing with Scott and Sarah's dog Max that are too cute. Luke loves the little dogs that are "cat-like" in size.

Last night we went to Margaritas with Kim, Dan and Sebastien. Sebastien slept through most of the meal, but the boys got to play afterwards back at their house. Luke loved chasing their little dog around and also liked playing with Sebastien's toys.
