I don't like to complain on here, well, because Luke is simply the best baby ever. Except when it comes to putting himself to sleep. He seems to be addicted to a)nursing b)driving &/or c) being held/rocking. Music in combination with any of the above, means lights out! Oh, and the pacifier, we can't forget that.
Last night (wed) was a norma night. He went to bed around 7 and slept til 1015. Rick got up and I fed him in bed. Rick put him back in his crib at about 1025. Luke slept til 1230. Rick rocks him back to sleep. He sleeps til 2. Rick attempts to rock him back to sleep and every time he puts him down between 2 and 2:50, he wakes up crying. At 2:50, he puts him in his crib awake and crying. After 10 minutes, I go get him and nurse him thinking maybe he is hungry. No dice. Back in the crib, cries on and off from 3:10ish to 5:00 AM. At some point while I was getting ready for work around 5am, he fell asleep. Ugh. rough night.
Tonight:
I was hoping to keep him awake until 7 (normal bedtime) but it didn't work out too well. At 5 he was getting really fussy and was tired. I fed him his dinner or sweet potatoes and then oatmeal cereal. We played for a bit after dinner and then it was bathtime. He played in there for a bit, then we got dressed for bed. Nursed him and then made sure he was awake, and went upstairs. Rocked for a few minutes and said our parayers and in the crib awake. Not one peep. From 6:10 to 7:16. He put himself to sleep and did not cry at all. At 7:16 he woke up crying, and I went upstairs 4 times I think to rub his belly and kiss him etc. But not pick him up. He fell asleep at 7:53, so much better than last night ... we will see how the rest of the night goes...
